Hey guys, so I am a pretty new user of the OR and E:D, and have played for maybe 5-6 hours only so far. I think I have most things figured out (although, damn am I going to need a new GPU soon, not being able to XFire my 6970's is killing my frame rate!).
The one thing I still can't do is manipulate the galaxy map. I use an X-55 HOTAS and keep the mouse to hand too only for the Galaxy map. The problem is, I can see the system I want to go to, it is right in front of me, but I can't' select it! Sometimes I can move my head around and the OR thinks I am looking at it and lets me select it, sometimes however it looks like it is selected but the computer has actually highlighted a system somewhere in the distance behind it. Sometimes I can select it with the mouse, although not usually by actually moving the pointer over the system, usually instead by moving somewhere an inch or so around the system although again, it will sometimes look like it's picked it up but it's actually focusing on some other system.
What I ended up doing was looking at the name of the system I was trying to focus on (that was RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME) then typing it into the search box to get the darned thing to focus. Oh, and once you've hit the find button don't move the mouse or joystick, or you'll lose focus again and have to re-search.
There HAS to be a better way I'm missing....?
